  6. Thoughts that came up while reading:

    Do troopers usually make social calls on rounds? Does his department have a professional relationship with this Travis character?

    Is Travis monitoring the neighborhood for real estate speculators? Is a plan afoot to buy the houses for pennies on the dollar? Who is going to move into them afterward?

    How is it that the banks can't trace the ownership of the houses,but Travis knows all about the financial circumstances of the Richardson eviction?

    "High-end rock 'n roll memorabilia" implies Wall Street connections, they're the only ones
    who would be buying that stuff in this economy.
